The brief for this project was to alteration and refurbish the historic dwelling in a sympathetic manner that would allow retention of all the historic and interesting features while modernising the structure.

The dwelling was a historic Edwardian dwelling dating from circa. 1900. It was two stores in height but with a decorative gable to the front facing the sea views. The strategy was to alter and update the low grade extension to the rear and demolish areas of poor construction while converting the attic to accommodate a new materbedroom with en-suite.  The structure was heavily modified to incorporate high levels of insulation and the dwelling is now heated by a high grade and advance Air to Water Heat pump. This also supplies hot water all year around. It also substantially reduces running costs in comparison to the use of gas. historic retained areas were fully and carefully restored, while new areas were more contemporary and designed to contrast with the historic fabric.
